Default refeed

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of getting a new plan 3rd time around. The first time I lost around 20 kilos, the second time, I didn't even get to do refeed so now I'm contemplating on just getting a whole new plan...I just want to ask why refeed is important. Thinking of using my 2nd plan but it doesn't have a refeed so pls if anyone can enlighten me that would be awesome. Thank you!

Hi Silverbee

Refeed is extremely important it is a very structured process of reintroducing other non plan foods but it is done so in a way that your body doesnt feel the shock of the new foods and suddenly you pile on the kilo's. Most people manage to get through the reintroduction of other foods and larger portions and still manage to drop a kilo in the process. If you don't do this - when you go off plan your body immediately starts to pile on the weight. The week 12 and week 16 blood test actually help the Dr see how that refeed programme should be designed. I highly recommend doing the programme all the way to the end. I am still 13 kilo's from goal but wouldn't go off plan without going through refeed and then moving on to the maintenance guidelines. Good luck in getting your new plan. T

Hi Silverbee,

My first attempt with Cohen's was 10 years ago. I lost 17kg in 8 weeks, got my re-feed and didn't follow it. It only took 6 months to regain everything I lost and add more over time.

Re-feeding is critical to stabilizing your weight loss and preparing your body for your new lifestyle. The re-feed can also help you identify foods which may be disagree with your system now that it's back in balance.

Did you get a re-feed plan with your first program? I'm using my original program from 2004 and so far have had great success. Your original plan may still work for you too.

HI thanks for that! I don't think the first program agree with me as I feel really sick, second one is ok except that I don't have a refeed program, debating whether to use my second program and use refeed from my first program don't know if that will work or just get a whole new program just wanting to save money if I could that's all..

I am back on the programme for my 2nd attempt. I lost 48 kgs last time but never hung in there until re-feed sadly as a result over the last 3 and 1/2 years I have managed to put 30+ kilos back on. So my thoughts would be to do the plan in full, do the re feed properly and have the full benefits. I have tried doing it on my own but without success so have paid again for my plan. Will get re feed and paying money reminds me that it is too expensive for me to deviate. lol confession have completed Day 1. BUT did it

Hi Scruffy's Mum, welcome back. Looking forward to reading about your progress as you take a second stab at it. I'm in the same situation as well, back again for round 2 and still learning (I only ever learn the hard way!). Good luck.
Hugs
Andie

Hi Silver... Just a personal suggestion, maybe you can try what's available for you for the meantime (meal plan from second program and refeed from 1st program)... and in few months, if you feel it doesn't work then you decide if you may need to purchase a new plan. Hope this helps!
