Default Re: Did others find the last 10kg a bit harder?

Hey guys...

I am not overly hungry or anything, but what I am having serious issues with is light-headedness, feeling dizzy and sick in the tummy. And my eyesight goes "weird".

I am not sure if these are normal? I have to remember that I am not on program officially, so maybe I am doing the wrong thing by waiting till hunger strikes for refeed.

I am going to the Melbourne meet-up on Sunday... I think you are coming too Eloise! Hopefully we can discuss this!! I don't want to let my 'I'm over this' mindset to sway me into starting refeed when I shouldn't, but then at the same time, I can't go around not being able to see properly and feeling dizzy etc.

I am not even in my cohens range yet, so it's not like I'm not trying to go too far or anything. During my first time on program, the decision to do refeed when I did was 100% my clinic, so I am kind of lost and I don't have my clinic to ask questions this time around... eek!

The 66 goal on my ticker is what weight I got to last time... 66.3 was my final refeed weight.

Ciao!

Im feeling exactly the same as you Twinnie, with the light headedness, dizzy and feeling sick! And my eyesight is doing the weird thing too, like being spaced out kinda? I cant give you any advice, but at least you are not alone! My consultant doesnt think Im ready for refeed yet if that helps

Me too. Decided to keep going for two more weeks. I think I can ... I think I can. As long as there's no faintness/weakness ... I know I can.

6.2 kg to go... i'm experiencing lightheadedness and dizzy spells. also having a hard time concentrating and am feeling lethargic all the time. i have hunger pangs but nothing that mind over matter can't handle. this might be a little gross but am having constipation problems for the first time on the Plan!

Holding on til low end! But instead of paying attention to the number, I'm going to listen to my body and wait for the symptoms.

GLT, carrieanne is right. try switching meals. As for the BM, expect it to be crazy till the end of refeed. Drink Senekot, it might help.

Hi! I'm new here

I've getting into week7 now. I still have 27kg to lose.
How long did it take you to lose 40kg?
I am getting married in January, so I'm really hoping to at least be 50 - 55kg by then.

Thanks!

I was just about to ask the same question. With 9.1kg to go, I have been hungry all of the time. I wake up hungry. I am hungry an hour after eating. I am also starting to have dreams again about non-Cohens food. I dreamed about fish and chips and they were delicious. I haven't had a dream like this since about week 2 or 3.

I hope this doesn't last long.

Nick

Hi AJS,

Hi !! Welcome aboard - it's a good place you've come to... but then, maybe I am a little biased.... nahh.....

Well, that is a bit better than "How long is a piece of string" as you already have a few weeks under your belt - so, maybe we can "forecast" a little.

However, it would be good to know a little more (like, what were your weekly losses for those last 6 weeks? - of course, you may not have weekly figures... do you?). The reason for asking, is that the first month is way higher than ongoing months - usually somewhere around double....

Still, staying conservative (and with you staying true to Plan), I'd be thinking you have shed something around 10Kg in the first 4 weeks, thus somewhere around 1.4kg per week since then. At that rate, with 27Kg to go, that would take around 20 weeks.

So, what is 20 weeks from now? End of January to lose it all - then add 3weeks of Refeed? On that basis, you are "odds on" to reach your goal of 50 - 55 by mid-January. Who knows, you "might" even be on Refeed by your wedding day - or finished. Go hard, and let's see - or add a bit more data, and we may be able to quantify it a little better.

One other thing though, Ajs - I note from your ticker that it finishes with a BMI of 18.6 Now, for a European, that is "borderline underweight" - but, for an Asian, it is just very slim. So, if you are Asian, it may be a valid goal - but, if you are European, perhaps your ticker/goal needs a "look at"

Hi h4l0,

What's the time, H4 ?

Perhaps "time to call your clinic"? I know in "latter days", those hungry days do increase. One way to cope is to switch your meals around (i.e. instead of eating Meal1, then 2, then 3 thru the day, switch it around to do a Meal2, 3, 1 or a Meal3, 2, 1).

Doing it that way gives you more nourishment thru your days, when you are expending energy, and just a whisker at night (allowing Mr HGH to get to work earlier as you grab an early night on a "more-or-less" empty stomach).

Can that work for you? Others in these latter days find it helps.

But, do call your Clinic too - just in case they have a better idea

Oh my last 3kg was a HUGE struggle... the weight either didn't move fast or it didn't even want to move at all. Then I felt all weak and at times, falling asleep behind wheels... those who were following my diary could actually vouch for it. I was sssooooo hungry I could chew off the table legs and it of course got increasingly worse till I was given 1 more piece of fruit which miraculously turned things around. I felt more energetic... amazing!

I definitely found the last bit the hardest part of all - I guess body is eating into the fat first stored on the body many years before. I found I was just permanently frozen and hungry and the last 5 kilos were the absolute worst - I felt light but shocking at the same time (but oh so motivated as I was so close to goal and already not overweight - remember Dr Cohen tends to put goal somewhat under the top of a healthy BMI range so when you are losing the last few kilos you are already not overweight officially speaking - so dredging on ever diminshing fat deposits). Hang in there but do talk to your clinic - I got permission at some stage close to refeed to have one extra cracker serve or piece of fruit and it did make all the difference (even when I didn't eat it, just knowing I could helped psychologically). As Koh says too, you can try swapping meals around - I started at one stage having steak and mushies for breakfast and that really helped me through the first part of the day.

Good luck!! Kay.

I so relate to being frozen, I am so..... COLD. Today I stood on my scales and I was 67kg which is my goal weight. So hopefully on Thursday I will be starting my refeed but to be honest my quantities have increased just ever so slightly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hunger comes at strange times when I am not expecting it. ZQ
