![]() I am laying in bed at the moment in ALOT of pain!! Exactly a yr ago I got my gallbladder removed due to 3 gallstones, which I am positive was due to my rapid weight loss on Cohens. Not blaming Cohens but each dr told me there was a link between stones and rapid weight loss. I am now experiencing almost the exact pain I did a year ago before surgery & Im worried I have a stone trapped in my bile ducts (which are not removed during surgery) Any one else experience stones? |

Saf I just had my gall bladder out a week ago and know all too well the issues you face!!!! I did 20 years of putting up with the stones, but can't tell you much about any subsequent pains.
I know from what the surgeon said to me that stones can form and lodge in the outer ducts too and all I can say to you is that if I were you I'd get it looked at quick smart. They told me stones in the ducts outside the gall bladder puts you at high risk of pancreatitis and seriously, you don't want that. Good luck, hope you feel better soon. |

Thank you Collie,
Good to hear ur better now. Before I typed this yesterday, I fell to the kitchen floor in pain..it felt like my bones were crushing in on eachother and the pain was radiating up into my right shoulder. I then remembered just over a yr ago this was the exact pain I felt before they operated on me and removed my gallbladder. After I typed this yesterday I didnt get any more pains, but if I feel them again, I will go straight to hospital. Fingers Crossed!! |

Hi all,
Is it harder to lose weight without your gallbladder or easier what's the story with this or is it just the same? |

I had my gallbladder out in late May and started the programme in late July. It's made absolutely no difference to how fast/slow I've lost weight (I lost 33kg seven years ago and I can't tell any difference).

I had my gallbladder taken out in 2005 (at 25 years of age) due to 6 stones! two were out and stuck in the bile duct which delayed surgery and increased the pain. and since then no stones.
Similar pain maybe a cause of other things such as peptic-ulcers and the likes. I strongly suggest you see a doctor ASAP even if you no longer have the pain. you won't loose anything at least to rule out anything serious. and I feel your pain... its horrible. hope you feel better ![]()

So here I am, had my gall bladder removed a week ago.
I had little stones, it was my second attack and it happened at work on a monday morning. Felt like someone was taking a knife and ripping me open below my right breast, it was excruciating. I also ended up having the stones cause hepatitis, jaundice and pancreatitis. Needless to say, I have never been in that much pain in my life. I then spent 4 days waiting for those to die down before they could remove my gall bladder, so 4 days of no eating, living off pain medication. I finally got back on plan today, but I just cant, I honestly cant eat the food, made chicken mince for lunch with some cut up cucumber and I only managed to force the chicken mince down, and I can barely drink my water. I dont know what to do honestly ![]()

Hey Giggles...
Give yourself a little time! You're still recovering. I hope you feel better soon ![]() What's causing you not to be able to eat? Does it make you feel sick? Do you feel full?

Hey LD.
I feel full and my tummy hurts, like physically cramps when I eat. I also could even get 1.5l of water down yesterday. I ended up eating my yoghurt for breakfast, attempting my fruit an hour later than normal(couldnt get even half down), then for lunch I could only get the chicken mince in, and didnt drink or eat for the rest of the day, besides a cup of tea in the evening cos I was freezing. ![]()

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time Gigglesza, it sounds so painful.
As they say on here, health comes first and your body has certainly had a lot of issues to sort though. Have you contacted your consultant to see what harm would be done if you maybe had yogurt more than once - if it is easier on the stomach to digest. Wishing you a speedy recovery WB |

Be forgiving and understanding of your body's needs Gigglez. It needs time to heal and you need to try and relax and not stress any further. Stick with cohens food types but don't expect to stick to plan 100% right now because that is just not realistic. Having such high expectations will just cause you more stress and angst and that will slow down your recovery.
Be kind and patient and just take it one day at a time. You will be back in action soon enough ![]() Xoxx |

Giggleza
If you are stressed your body could get shocked and lock up a bit, try to heal first and allow some time, wait it out. I'm awaiting surgery and losing much slower because of the pain relief I am taking. My liver is busy dealing with the additional chemicals so the body isn't concentrating on balancing hormones, but I am losing, I am re-shaping and on plan as much as possible. Give yourself time and just do your best and try to be content with that, when you are poorly or recovering your well-being is better served doing what you feel you can do, not what you should do. Get well soon. Tink |
